Let’s take a look at the SS24 collection of the Diesel brand, under the artistic direction of Glenn Martens. Creative director of the French brand Y/Project, born in 1983, he began his career with Jean Paul Gaultier, but his rise began in 2013, when he was called by CEO of Y/Project Gilles Elalouf, to entrust him with the stylistic direction of the brand and then become the creative director of Diesel in 2020.
The collection seems to be inspired by the frenzy of modern times, a metaphor for life, the fabric becomes a poster worn by atmospheric agents, a devoré effect, crumbled with shreds of fabric that seem to suggest that fashion is daughter of our times and is still cool and extraordinary. The colorful prints bring folds to the garments, as if they had been abandoned for some time at the bottom of a pile of clothes piled up in the wardrobe.
Many transparencies, tears, stains, pop and punk references, on the fishnet skirts or nylon jackets, Glenn Martens has transformed the brand into a viral content, where jeans music and sensuality conquer the scene becoming a must have!
