In less than four collections, the Italian brand Darkpark, born as a denim and cargo trousers brand, founded by Inna Gerchikov and Maurizio Purificazione >, has evolved across various product categories.
The creative mind of the brand is Gerchikov, passionate about the iconic denim fabric that has influenced all her collections and her life. The name of the brand wanted to evoke the unconventional and fun approach with a very masculine garment, “trousers” and “jeans“.
The SS24 Darkpark collection, as explained by the two founders Maurizio Purificazione and Inna Gerchikov is reinvented with innovative textures: raw edge cuts, the crystal panels, drawstring, the iconic utility pockets. “At the beginning we needed that ‘wow’ effect. And now that we have that ‘wow-wow’, we are toning it down,” confirmed Gerchikov.
The brand has chosen Marco Corso as head designer, bringing into the company “an incredible eye and know-how” in the field of shirts and of jackets, because Corso had a past with Jil Sander and it can be felt in this collection.
Military cargo pants made of Tencel and roomy utility options embellished with crystal chains were paired with masculine poplin shirts and bomber jackets in checkered fabrics that nodded to a preppy aesthetic.
Leather was used for tank tops and overshirts, again denim trousers with exaggerated cuffed bottoms, studded Bermuda shorts and the brand’s famous best-selling “Ines” with mismatched closure, proposed in a thinner wash. Bold and feminine proposals, fluorescent accents, sequins that illuminate garments with a distressed effect and trousers dotted with crystals.
